Fractional Distillation Systems for Purification

These precision designed fractionations units fill the gap between small laboratory bench scale fractional distillation units and large process systems for critical applications.

Glass Nutsch Filter

The Glass Nutsche Filter designed to separate solids from liquids and it allows operating under pressure or under vacuum. The filter is made of borosilicate glass 3.3 and PTFE and mounted in a mobile frame 304 stainless steel to facilitate the access to the laboratory.

Nutsch filters

Ablaze Nutsch filters can easily combined with reactors for solid & liquid separation after the synthesis. The inert materials allow safe processing in a inert atmosphere of a wide range of solvents and acids in a completely sealed  under full vacuum and  slurry is transferred into the filter. The solid content in the slurry is held back by the filter cloth forming a filter cake, while the filtrate runs away to the outlet valve in the bottom plate and cake  is removed easily from the top by opening the cover and lowering the glass filter vessel, which is fixed to the lifting device. The same lifting device is used to lower the bottom for accessing the filter cloth for cleaning and easily exchange.

Glass Gas Scrubber

Lab & pilot scale gas scrubber  for used in many air and exhaust cleanup tasks ,  Scrubber is available in Glass  5 Liter to 200 Liter capacity of fluid tank.

Gas scrubbing takes place when the exhaust enters the inlet in the round bottom flask and travels upward through the absorption column. The scrubbing fluid is pumped from the round bottom flask upwards into the shower head adapter and then flows counter-current to the exhaust gas through the packed column thereby causing intensive contact between the two.

 

Scrubber can be used by creating either a positive flow through the reaction vessel using a carrier such as nitrogen or other solvent to neutralize the corrosive exhausts gases  , or by  connection of a vacuum source to the column adapter.

JUMBO Rotary Evaporator

JUMBO Rotary Evaporator is fundamentally a thin film evaporator also called rotary vacuum evaporator. The rotating flask continuously covers a large surface area with a thin film which is ideal for rapid heat transfer. Fortuitously, the thin film also ensures uniform heat distribution without local heating. The facility to work the unit under full vacuum further facilitates evaporation at as low temperature as possible. That is to say, both boiling point and residence time are significantly reduced. These features combined, renders rotary film evaporator to be ideally suited for evaporation of heat sensitive material. Borosilicate Glass Vessel

In most of the chemicals  plants, vessels are used as reactors, receivers, separators, measuring or feed vessels and glass reactor are available in spherical shape from 5 to 500 liter and in cylindrical shape from 5 to 500 liter capacity. cylindrical vessels can be supplied with metal/glass jackets too.All the borosilicate glass reactor are provided with a bottom outlet for which a suitable valve can be chosen from our range of valves.

Glass Triple wall reactor

Glass Assembly Over GLR

Glass Lined Reactors are used instead of glass reactors specially when scale of operation is large and relatively high pressure steam is to be used as heating media. Quite often assemblies like Simple Distillation Unit, Reaction Distillation Unit and Fractional Distillation Unit etc. are installed above glass lined reactors. The basic features of these assemblies remain the same but glass shell and tube heat exchanger is preferred due to large scale of operation. A typical fractional distillation unit type assembly over GLR is shown in nearby figure. The assembly can be separated into different categories.

The average co-efficient of heat transfer in coil condenser is considered as :-
Condensation 200 - 270 Kcal/m2, hr, °C appx.
Cooling 100 - 150 Kcal/m2, hr, °C appx.

Glass coil type heat exchangers

Glass coil type heat exchangers made in borosilicate 3.3 glass are single-piece units where the tube coil is fused to the shell, so that no seals are required. This eliminates any risk of cross-contamination between the service medium and the product.
